Authentic natural beauty in the nature park
The Fanes Sennes Braies nature park is over 25,000 hectares in size and serves as the home for many kinds of plants and animals. Because it is specially protected, nature here is almost untouched. You can hike through the Alpine landscape and see many things: mountain meadows full of flowers, cool spruce woods and rugged rock cliffs are the main characteristics of this nature park. Maybe on your hike you might catch sight of a marmot or even a nimble chamois deer – one of few species able to run in the rocky landscape.
On the 26th of June 2009, nine mountain peaks in the Dolomites – including the Fanes Sennes Braies nature park – were named a UNESCO Natural World Heritage site “because of their unique and massive beauty”.
